AN EXTRAORDINARY LODGE IN AN EXTRAORDINARY
LOCATION
Manta,
Ecuador, is the most important tuna
fishing port on the Eastern Pacific
Ocean. For more than fifty years American
Fisheries have chosen Manta to develop
their industrial facilities. Likewise,
there are several other enterprises
engaged in exporting food products
and commodities to the United States.
Recently,
an American Military Base was established
and had begun their operations to
help control drug trafficking activities
and illegal immigration toward the
United States. Three are quite a few
American citizen, military and civilian
as well, living in the city.
Regarding
sport fishing, it is important to
mention that Manta has always been
an important place. We need just to
mention Jorge "Pancho" Jurado
and his 1,014, 17 years world record,
blue marlin caught out in Manta on
May 12, 1985.
The
waters around "Isla de la Plata",
which is about 25 miles off Manta,
had registered many world fishing
records, including several billfishes,
groupers and the current Makerel Pacific
Sierra established on March 24, 1990.
It
is worth mentioning that most of this
fishing efforts were made from Salinas,
90 miles away, but now we are doing
it from Manta.
We
have opened the operation of a Sportfishing
Center that provides exclusively Hatteras
and Bertram, first class hotel and
accommodations at affordable prices
and a crew with more than 20 years
of experience. All of our equipment
is Penn International, and we also
have some Finn Noors reels.
We
have a daily Boeing 727/200 service
to Manta, whose airport has been just
optimized as part of an American-
Ecuadorian Agreement and is technically
able to operate every day during the
24 hours.
The
United States Dollar is the Ecuadorian
legal currency which gives the country
a monetary stability while facilitate
our visitors' excursion who do not
have to worry about exchange rates.
We
have begun our activities from February
2002 an and we are sure that our fishing
package (accommodation, boats, crew,
travel fares) will be a sensation.
Our
fishing schedule will begin at 05:00h,
departing from the docks, start fishing
at 06:30h and returning to shore at
17:00h.
We
can also organize shared tours for
Salinas and Manta, and all of the
"Marlin Boulevard" which
begins in Cabo Blanco, Perú
up to the south of Colombia, and also
organize excursions to cities in the
Highlands, as Quito and Cuenca, both
declared World Heritage by the UNESCO,
to Guayaquil, the principal industrial
and commercial center of Ecuador.
